Morgan L. Smith is a legal talent leader and strategist focused on all aspects of lawyer life. She is the Chief Legal Talent Officer at Frost Brown Todd, responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive strategy to attract, develop and retain top-tier lawyer talent and support a progressive workforce. Before joining Frost Brown Todd in 2021, she worked in professional development, legal recruiting, diversity, and legal personnel at firms based in Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, New York and Hartford, CT. Ms. Smith received a J.D. from the College of William & Mary and an A.B. from Mount Holyoke College.
Ms. Smith is a member of the Professional Development Consortium (PDC) and NALP. Currently serving as the NALP liaison to the ABA Commission on Women in the Legal Profession, she has been actively involved in NALP since 1994. She was awarded NALP's 2011 President's Award for outstanding contribution to the association and industry, along with her co-chair, for their leadership of NALP’s Commission on Recruiting in the Legal Profession (2009-2011). Prior NALP experience includes serving on the Leadership Development Task Force, Long Range Strategic Planning and Bylaws Committees, serving as the chair of the GLBT, Conference Planning and Nominating Committees for NALP and as the Midwest Director on the NALP Board of Directors..
