Leanne Fuith is a Professor of Law and the Dean of Career and Professional Development at Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
Leanne has been a NALP member since 2016 and currently chairs the NALP Amended ABA Standard 303 Compliance Workgroup. She is also a member of the Law Student Professional Development section and one of the co-vice chairs of the Law Student Professional Identity Formation committee. She previously co-authored the 2020 NALP JD Advantage Career Guide with members of the JD Advantage Section.
Leanne teaches a variety of business and other foundational courses including Civil Dispute Resolution, Contracts, Deals and Disputes, Foundations of Practice, Lawyer as Business Owner, and Transactions & Settlements. She works one-on-one to advise law students on their career pathways of interest and how to gain practical experience in those areas.
She also advises lawyers on law firm formation and management issues and speaks and writes on topics related to business and law firm formation and management, leadership and lawyers, and law student and lawyer professional formation.
Leanne previously represented employees in litigation involving wrongful termination, sexual harassment, discrimination, and other civil rights violations. She also advised closely-held business on employment best practices and business start-up, formation and management. She also has experience in business development, marketing strategy and corporate communications for privately and publicly held companies.
