I am an experienced law firm administrator and have worked at top firms in both the New York and Chicago legal markets. I currently serve as Director of Recruiting and Professional Development at Varnum, overseeing firm-wide talent acquisition efforts and professional development initiatives for our lawyers. My areas of expertise include recruiting process operations for both entry-level and experienced attorneys; behavioral interviewing; candidate offer negotiation and on-boarding; evaluation process administration; statistical analysis; budgeting; event planning; and other related functions.
Prior to joining Varnum, I was Director of Recruiting for Chapman and Cutler LLP, most recently supervising hiring for all non-partner attorneys and administrative staff in all six offices. I also previously managed professional development efforts at the Firm. My responsibilities included the administration of attorney evaluations (including the creation of evaluation forms) and managing our mentor program. I am well-versed in Continuing Legal Education (CLE) in Illinois and have experience with applying for CLE credit in many other states.
I have been recognized by my peers as a leader in my field and currently serve as a Regional Representative for the Midwest on NALP's Regional Resource Council. Prior to that, I served as the Midwest Employer representative on the 2016-2017 Nominating Committee. On the local level, I was the 2015 President of the Board of the Chicago Association of Legal Personnel Administrators (CALPA), an especially exciting time to lead the group as Chicago hosted NALP's Annual Conference in April of 2015 and CALPA served as the host city group. I also served the organization as Vice President in 2014 and as Secretary in 2013.
