As co-chairs of the Small & Mid-Sized Interest Group, Kate Harrison and I are putting together some RFP's for the NALP 2027 Annual Education Conference in Seattle next year.

We're looking for speakers to join us! See details below, and please reach out to us if you're interested. RFP's are due Tuesday, 7/7, so we're in a bit of a time crunch!

    RFP #1

No One-Size-Fits-All: Law School CSO and Boutique/Mid-Sized Law Firm Collaboration

Looking for 1 more school-side speakers

    Draft Program Description:

Small, boutique, and mid-sized law firms offer law students meaningful training, close client contact, and varied career paths, yet they often face visibility and resource challenges in law student recruiting. This program will explore who law school career services offices and smaller firms can work together effectively to connect students with these opportunities, even with limited staff resources and time. Panelists will discuss how schools can gather and share meaningful employer information, how firms can communicate their hiring needs clearly, and how both sides can connect students to opportunities that align with their skills, interests, and goals.

    RFP #2

If interested, please reach out to Alex Doll at adoll@coblentzlaw.com

Current Speakers: Alex Doll at Coblentz Patch Duffy & Bass LLP (San Francisco); Kate Reder Sheikh at Major Lindsay & Africa (SF Bay Area and Colorado)

    Draft Program Description:

Small, boutique, and mid-sized law firms face unique opportunities and challenges in the lateral hiring market. This program will explore how firms can build productive partnerships with legal search firms to attract top talent while maximizing recruiting resources and controlling costs. Panelists will discuss when to engage recruiters, how to establish effective working relationships, common pitfalls to avoid, and best practices for improving communication, candidate experience, and hiring outcomes. Attendees will leave with practical strategies for leveraging search firms as partners in achieving their firms' lateral recruiting goals.
