NALP has a number of upcoming deadlines for content, and we'd love to get some Small/Midsized Interest Group representation!

Bulletin+ Article proposals are due THIS FRIDAY, June 26 and RFP's for the 2027 Annual Education Conference (AEC) in Seattle are due Tuesday, July 7

We're tracking a full list of ideas here, but below is a summary. Are you interested in speaking or writing about a topic? Please reply to the thread or reach out to Alex Doll at adoll@coblentzlaw.com or Kate Harrison at KHarrison@BODMANLAW.COM

    Bulletin Article Ideas:

    • Small Budgets – how to integrate your associates OR how to stay in touch with your incoming summers/first years without a Big Law budget
    • Measuring success – talent metrics that matter in smaller firms (beyond class size and prestige)

    AEC RFP Ideas:

    • Etiquette needs for summer associates/first years. Reach out to Laura Dettinger at ldettinger@hallrender.com if interested.
    • Beyond OCI – building alternative talent pipelines through regional schools, judicial clerkships, nontraditional candidates?
    • Low cost PD/career development on a budget – how to provide impactful training programs without budgets for external speakers and coaches
    • Jake of all Trades AND Master of all Trades – how to manage workload when your team is small or how to prioritize/set boundaries around expectations for your department
    • Working with search firm partners – how can small, midsized, and boutique firms compete with Big Law for lateral talent? Reach out to Alex Doll at adoll@coblentzlaw.com if interested.
    • Competing with Big Law – how can boutique and mid-sized firms market themselves for top candidates
    • What associates really want from midsized firms – maybe partner with search firms?

Let's make sure our interest group's needs and perspectives are represented!
