Bio

As a Student Development Director, Amy Perez works closely with students to navigate the unique challenges of law school and to help them find greater success, satisfaction, and happiness during law school and beyond.

Amy received her Juris Doctor in 2000 and her Bachelor of Science in 1997, both with honors, from the University of Florida. Prior to joining Miami Law’s Student Development team in 2012, Amy spent two years as an Associate Director in the Career Development Office. From 2010 to 2015 Amy also served as Miami Law’s Director of Judicial Clerkships and continues to serve as a member of Miami Law’s Judicial Clerkship Committee.

Amy has held numerous leadership positions within the National Association for Legal Professionals (NALP), including Chair of the Newer Professional’s Section and Chair of the Judicial Clerkship Section. She has also served on the Nominating Committee, Annual Conference Planning Committee, and as a faculty member of the Newer Professionals’ Forum. In 2010, Amy earned NALP’s Award of Distinction for Professional Development and Training.

Upon graduation from law school, Amy practiced labor and employment law in Miami representing a broad range of individuals, corporations, and public sector entities. Amy’s interest in professional and student development was first sparked when she worked as a Peer Pre-Law Advisor at the University of Florida. Today, Amy draws upon the wide variety of her educational and professional experiences to help guide and counsel Miami Law’s students.
