As the Director of Legal Career Services and Alumni Services at UMass Law, I am responsible for developing, implementing and reporting on career planning and placement for the law school’s students and graduates. In addition to providing leadership for the CSO, I manage the law school’s Pro Bono Program and am the Chair of the Public Interest Summer Stipend Committee.
A majority of my professional life in law school career services has been in a small/solo office. I have a passion for working with non-traditional students, especially those who are first generation professionals, and my work in this area focuses on preparing students to become confident to enter the legal profession and achieve career success.
I have been an active member of NALP since 2010. Currently, I am the Chair of the JD Career Advisors Section, and last year I chaired the JDCA Section’s Bar Exam Resources Work Group. Before that, I was a member of the Annual Educational Conference Planning Committee (2016-2017) and the Public Interest Mini Conference Committee (2014). Additionally, I served as the President of the Northeast Law School Career Consortia (2015-2017) and the Massachusetts Law School Consortia (2014-2015).
I am a licensed member of the Massachusetts and New York State bars. Since 2004 I have worked in law school career services, initially as the Assistant Dean of Career Services and Alumni Relations at Southern New England School fo Law until assuming my current position in 2010. Prior to that time I practiced business law in Boston at two firms from 1996-2004.
